Ouse Valley Ramblers Group
OVRG is a small and friendly group, delighted to welcome new members and visitor from other local rambling associations. Walks are usually in North Bedfordshire and may also cross int neighbouring Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire.
U3A Walking Club
U3A is a friendly group for the retired and semi retired. Walks run from 10am to 12 noon on a Monday

North Beds Nordic Walking
Nordic walking is a full-body exercise.It is easy on the joints so is suitable for all ages and classes are geared to different levels of fitness. If you are just starting out on your fitness ampaign, then look out for the gentle walks. There are also workout walks, which do just that, helping weight loss, body tone and giving the whole body a workout, all in the beautiful Bedfordshire countryside.
Some Great Walks in Bedford
- The Milton Ernest Heritage Trail is a 3 mile gentle walk with no stiles, around the village of Milton Ernest, taking in many historic and interesting buildings.
- Bedford Park to Park Wood walk is a pretty walk of about 2 miles covering Bedford Park and the surrounding countryside.
- Bedford to Fenlake Meadows & Priory Park at Bedford is another 2 mile walk starting at the Embankment, walking along the beautiful river bank.
- The Ouse Valley Way – Bedford to Great Barford at Bedford – is a 7 mile walk along the River Ouse more or less following Route 51, the cycle/walking path created along the former railway line. The walk passes Priory Country Park, the Ancient Monument at the Danish Camp and Willington.
