A complex crime novel with an insight into human nature and relationships that interlocks brilliantly with the twists and turns of a mystery story.
Giles Penshurst is rich, picks his clients and always gets the job done. Sounds like the perfect life – except for one detail: he kills people for money. As a contract killer who stumbled into the life, Giles is meticulous about staying one step ahead of the police…even when Hazel Frazer, the police in question, is the one woman determined to catch him red handed. What happens next is a whirlwind of fast talking and falling in love against all odds, but as Giles escapes the police’s net to Brazil, will Hazel’s love prove greater than her duty? Or will Giles’ perfectly crafted life fall down around him?
Author, Alan Jacobs, has an active imagination but has also drawn from real life experience - though not in the way you’d think!
“I first learned to shoot in the Royal Navy and enjoyed it,” explains Alan. “Years later I took up shooting in a club with my own rifle. It was a .22 BSA accurate up to a mile. Unlike what people might think of hitmen, my killer has a heart. He tries to kill only the dregs of society - the ones who need killing. He doesn’t always succeed, but he tries.”
Based in Bedfordshire, Alan Jacobs was born just before WW11. He left school and joined the Royal Navy, serving in the Suez campaign and flying in helicopters as a rescue crewman.
