The chairman, Bob Wickens, said that, “We hope that more men realise we are here, and how we can make a difference to their lives. Just come and join us.”
On display were examples of what the Men In Shed get up to when they are not too busy talking and drinking tea. Woodwork, carving, engraving, computers and electronics, model railways, weaving, woodturning, fine art painting, calligraphy and metal casting. Throughout the day there were also ongoing demonstrations, and the food from the BBQ went down well.

The charity would like to thank everyone who gave up their time and made an effort to visit us. Also a big thank you to E-spired Centre of Excellence, who very kindly allowed us to use their hall and grounds for the event.
Men in Sheds is a charity organisation whose aim is to keep men active and healthy by getting them out of the house and meeting people, making friends, and doing stuff. They also arrange several days out, visits, and social events. Although primarily organised around practical skills, the shed is open to everyone. The Men in Shed movement is primarily aimed at older more mature men – but everyone is welcome. They do have younger members and several ladies who attend.
