The Jellybabes Fundraising Group are organising the festive foodie affair at the Sue Ryder hospice in Moggerhanger on Saturday 30th November in memory of their friend, Suzanne.
Taking place 3.30pm until 5.30pm in the hospice’s warm and inviting hall, there will be a delectable selection of sandwiches, cakes and festive favourites on offer including pigs in blankets, chestnut stuffing balls and mince pies.
The inspiration for the event is the afternoon tea the group of friends organised for Suzanne’s hen do.
Tracey Slevin from the group said, “We organised an afternoon tea for Suzanne's hen do, so that was our inspiration for our latest fundraiser, a Festive Afternoon Tea on Saturday 30th November, 3.30pm-5.30pm to be held in the hall at St John's Hospice, Moggerhanger.”
“We originally formed our group to raise money for Sue Ryder St John's Hospice for our dear friend Suzanne, who was cared for and passed away at the hospice.”
“Suzanne is still our main motivation, but as time moves on, we have other friends and family who are benefitting from the fantastic services that Sue Ryder St John's Hospice provides too.”
“We know many people will have been touched by the expert and compassionate care given by Sue Ryder, so we hope lots of people will come and join us for our festive foodie fundraiser and help the Sue Ryder Nurses, care team and support staff be there for more people like Suzanne when it matters.”
Places can be reserved for £15 per person with Prosecco available at £5 per glass. A vegetarian or gluten free menu is also available on request when booking.
