The Harpur Trust has just donated £6240 which will enable them to employ a counsellor Tuesdays and Wednesdays, from 10am-2pm.

Bedford Daycare Hospice provides holistic care for adults suffering with a life-limiting illness who are registered with a Bedford Borough or Central Bedfordshire GP. Cancer and non-cancer patients alike are cared for in a calm, homely atmosphere from the point of diagnosis, through investigations and treatment to remission or palliative care. The “whole person” is cared for; mind, body and spirit. Away from the clinical environment the patient can just be themselves in a safe place where the focus is on living. The Hospice is open Monday-Friday, 10am-3.30pm and cares for up to 60 patients per week.

Linda Byer, Nurse Manager of the Hospice, said “We are so grateful to receive this funding as we can provide counselling in a timely manner for those that are in real need.”.
