Breeze into Bedford…

Breeze is a British Cycling initiative which has just celebrated it’s 4th year. It’s the biggest programme ever to get more women into riding bikes for fun. Their aim is to help thousands of women feel confident and comfortable about going on a bike ride.

Breeze champions are a network of over a thousand passionate and enthusiastic female volunteers who help deliver the programme. They organise hundreds of  free local bike rides throughout the country every week.

Rides go at a speed that suits everyone, and they often start or finish at a cafe so everyone can have a drink and a chat. Breeze currently have almost 200 bike rides for women on a weekly basis.

Larissa Clarke of Transition Coaching has recently qualified to become a Breeze Champion for Bedford so will be organising rides in the local area throughout the year.

Rides are aimed at ladies who may not have been on a bike for years or who would just like to build their confidence up before venturing out on their own. So beginners and novices are very welcome. These free social rides will be at a gentle pace using local cycle tracks away from the busy roads. The rides will all include a tea break to enjoy some of the delightful cafes in the Bedfordshire area and of course a chance for a chat.
