December Recipe – Easy Peasy Spiced Christmas Crumble

A delicious quick recipe to add a little spice and warmth to your festive desserts!

Serves 6




225g flour 
90g caster sugar
Pinch of salt 
2 tea spoons of grounded ginger 
120g butter (cold)
50g mix nuts crushed



100g sugar
100ml water
90g caster sugar 
3 large diced pears 
3 lumps of stem ginger 
Lime zest 1 lime 
2 apples ( cox) 
3 table spoons of mincemeat 

Pre heat oven to 200 degrees

Crumble top

           Sift flour into mixing bowl 

  1. Add sugar, ground ginger, salt and mixed nuts
    Rub in the butter until the mixture looks like rough bread crumbs

    Put sugar and water into a pan and bring to the boil 
    Boil for 1 minute 
    Add apples and pears 
    Cook for 5 minutes
    Add stem ginger, lime zest and mincemeat
    Cook for 2 minutes
    Transfer to an oven proof dish 
    Sprinkle over crumble top 
    Cook in oven for 25 mins 

    Serve with a big ball of whipped cream fraiche or ice-cream.
