Aim for beautiful skin from within to give you lift and sparkle that will last you all year!
Let’s start with some basics – We all know that keeping your body well hydrated, drinking lots of water and having a good night’s sleep will keep your eyes rested and sparkling, avoiding under-eye puffiness. A balanced healthy diet will reflect in your skin, as will exercise which helps your skin to flush out the toxins and improve circulation, so keep moving!
So how can your skin get the most from your skincare regime?
Firstly, use a gentle cleanser (not soap) and lukewarm water to clean your face, morning and evening.
Next, exfoliate. Treat yourself to a facial scrub containing AHA’s or fruit acids to help remove the build-up of dead skin cells that leads to dull, grey skin. For a true boost, book in for a microdermabrasion treatment to mechanically remove the dead skin cells and reveal fresher looking skin – this will ensure a real glow.
Add a hydrating serum packed with antioxidants and vitamins. Consider one that includes a natural blend of botanicals that help to lighten, brighten, calm redness and even out skin tone. Together these will give luminous, brighter-looking skin.
Apply an eye-cream with a blend of nourishing antioxidants and peptides to strengthen the delicate skin here and prevent sagging! Try keeping your eye-cream in the fridge. The coldness of the cream will reduce puffiness and acts as an anti-inflammatory.
Moisturise every morning. Whether it’s tinted or not, make sure it is power-packed with antioxidants, sun protection (yes, even in winter), vitamin C, hydrating and collagen boosting agents.
Remember to use a nourishing night cream as this is when your skin works the hardest -repairing and rejuvenating, eradicating signs of what you put your skin through the night before! Anti-ageing ingredients like glycolic or fruit acids and retinols will encourage cellular turnover, peptides will boost collagen synthesis.
Finally, protect and hydrate your lips with a skin-healthy lip balm (non-petroleum based) to avoid them cracking and peeling. Use a lip pencil to colour in and stain your lips (not just the outline) and then top it off with a smidgen of lip balm or lip gloss. You’re well on your way to party perfect skin!
