Rushmere Country Park’s annual Big Summer Weekend!

A big weekend of summer fun and fundraising events takes place this year at Rushmere Park 11-12 August with Concert in the Park on the Saturday followed by the Summer Fayre and Fun Dog Show on the Sunday.

Come and join in the fun and games – free admission with arts, crafts, refreshments and a whole host of fun activities for all the family out on The Meadow.

Concert in the Park 2018

Kicking off our Big Summer Weekend of fundraising, come and join us on The Meadow for a relaxed evening of local music talent raising funds for Rushmere Country Park. This is a family-friendly event with food stalls and beer tent and fairground amusements for the kids.

We’ve been working hard to bring you an even better Concert in the Park – this year we’ve invested in a stage and better sound system which we’re sure will add to your enjoyment of the event. We’ve put together a really great line-up of local music talent too!

The running order is as follows:

4pm – Gates open for concert visitors

5pm-6pm Razz

Razz is a professional female singing group who cover a wide range of popular hits from the Andrews Sisters to Abba with plenty of 50s, 60s and 70s classics in between, all with their own special Razz harmony treatment.

6.30pm-7.30pm The Zeroes

The Zeroes are MK’s leading (and possibly only) Latino Punk band. Their music is noisy power-pop with an occasional salsa twist. The band tend to write about what they know; life in Milton Keynes, characters from TV shows, growing up in the 80s, being dumped and stuff like that. They also cover artists from Blondie to The Smiths to Lionel Ritchie, via Kim Wilde and the Killers.

8pm-9pm Kobold

Kobold’s extensive and varied repertoire of songs ranges from John Martyn to James Taylor, Cat Stevens to The Doors, Peter Gabriel to Lennon & McCartney, together with a sprinkling of traditional folk and some originals written by band members.

9.30pm-10.30pm Inlak’esh

Inlak’esh are a four piece instrumental acoustic band from Milton Keynes, UK, who work tirelessly on creating succulent, ear pleasing yet hard hitting grooves, delivering distinctive albeit confusingly intricate Spanish scale to Arabian influenced melodies and evoking rhythmical senses with punctuated pauses and timely grabs to create shock and awe.
