Open Air Theatre in Bedford is Thriving!

The Pavilion at the Park in Bedford Park is behind a significant expansion in open air theatre in Bedford.

Emma Garrett, Proprietor of the Pavilion Café has announced four events for this Summer.

Says Emma,  “Our first Shakespeare in the Park was in 2015, in collaboration with Big Theatre and such was it’s success, we were encouraged to mount two performances in 2016 bringing the wonderful Oddsocks Productions to Bedford, with their hilarious adaptations of Shakespeare’s Much Ado about Nothing and Macbeth.

They played to sell-out audiences and we are delighted to announce that they are back this year, with a repeat of Macbeth and their new production, Romeo and Juliet on the 9th and 10th June.

There is yet more Shakespeare on offer, this time, it will be played out at the our sister operation, the Kiosk in Russell Park , when the exquisitely talented Handlebards will be performing  A Midsummer Night’s Dream, on bicycles!  Thursday, 6th July

And finally, to offer an alternative to Shakespeare, we are introducing Family Theatre in the Park, starting with Kenneth Graham’s marvellously whimsical tale, Wind in the Willows performed by the irrepressible Immersion Theatre from London. Saturday, 2nd September

We are delighted, once again, to have Michael Graham as our Sponsors and our audiences just love the free popcorn, generously supplied by Portlebay
