The National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs are one of the largest rural youth organisations in the UK dedicated and run by young people who have a love for agriculture and rural life. 7 of the 619 clubs are based within Bedfordshire County; Bedford, Blunham, Biggleswade, Leighton Buzzard, North Beds, Silsoe and Woburn.
Each club meets weekly to take part in a variety of different activities including: sports, demonstrations, tours, talks, socials, competitions and so much more! All 7 clubs also meet once a month for a county meeting!
The biggest day in the Beds Young Farmer’s Calendar is Rally Day. This years Country Show and Rally is on Saturday 19th May being held at Scald End Farm, Thurleigh by kind permission of Martin and Gillian Towler. Rally day is also an opportunity for every member of every club to compete in a huge variety of competitions including; flower arranging, cookery, farm skills, livestock showing, obstacle courses and so much more!
It is also a fantastic day in the countryside for the general public to visit too, with an array of food and craft stalls, and supported by local companies displaying their products on trade stands!
