Once a month Friday night is comedy night at The Barns Hotel, Bedford.
The Riverside Tavern offers an intimate setting for an evening of humour which is sure to sweep away the stresses of the week.
Join just for the show or choose the option of a delicious meal of chicken and chips before settling back to enjoy a mix of jokes, wit and satire.
This month there were not one, not two, but five comedians in a show hosted by Paul T Eyres who has been performing stand-up professionally since 2007. Paul, with his witty repartee, quirky outlook and cutting irony set the scene for the evening.
Bob Gessey delighted the room with his songs about Dentists, Doctors and Death, bringing traditional musical comedy right into the 21st century with excellent comic timing.
Although new to the world of Stand up, Mark Row did not disappoint with some insightful humour on everything from kids to car insurance!
Mancunian Jay Hampson, with over 5 years experience, did a superb set which was big on observation from subjects ranging from childbirth to Bonobo chimps – and no they are not monkeys!
Headline act Susan Murray, the winner of the first ever Jongleurs Competition, ended the evening on a high with a cynical and lively set.
The next evening is in next month and you’d be mad as a March hare to miss it!
