The Cranfield Trust are delighted to be able to offer another free masterclass on February 21st
exclusively for voluntary sector organisations, in the Bedford area
This 1/2-day course, funded by The Harpur Trust, will focus on Leadership and getting the most out of your team.
During the masterclass, you will learn:
- A simple framework for creating alignment in your organisation.
- Low-cost and no-cost ways to create greater buy-in.
- Coaching and influencing skills you can put into practice straightaway.
Course leader, Dr. Andy Bass, will explore how third sector leaders can get the most out of their team and address the common challenges they face, he says:
“A practical definition of leadership is,“the art of getting results through other people.” Easy to say, but not always so easy to do. On the positive side, charities tend to have people who are highly committed. Motivation is not the main issue. Indeed people are volunteering or accepting relatively low pay because they believe in the cause.
But while people are committed and hard-working, it’s not unusual for them to disagree strongly on priorities. They may even feel justified in ignoring ‘agreed’ priorities to work on whatever they personally think is important.
It can be frustrating, and wasteful. As grateful as you are for their commitment, you know that to thrive and increase your impact as an organisation, you need people to focus effort and pull in the same direction.”
This powerful masterclass will give you the opportunity to discuss your individual issues and offer practical solutions to help get the most out of your team. The session will be interactive, with exercises, discussion with your peers, and plenty of time for Q&A.
This will be held on February 21st at The Harpur Trust, Princeton Court, Pilgrim Centre, Brickhill Drive, MK41 7PZ
Please arrive at 12.30 for pre-course refreshments (tea and coffee), this class with start promptly at 1pm and finish approx 4pm.
You are only eligible to book for this free masterclass if you work for a voluntary organisation that provides services within the Bedford Borough, effectively, any charity within a 30-mile radius of Bedford.
